Ham - how do I know if it's cooked

1st post in the foodie section so go easy I was given a piece of Ham from someone at work, it's quite large weighing in at nearly 5kg (should keep me going in ham sarnies until Feb).
So the question i have is, is it cooked ? I know this might sound silly, but i really don't know. It was given to me in a bag of brine / jelly, it kinda looks cooked, tastes a bit salty, but does it need a session in the pot or oven ?
