I wish I had the time/patience/skill to build something like this.

I have designed a new kit for a Scottish fishing boat, a 'Fife'. It will be very easy to build (2-3 weeks), and can be radio controlled.
(Not out for a few months though...I haven't finished it yet..)

Thats awesome, I'm not really into scale modelling and stuff, but that is really impressive. The level of finish (from somebody who knows nothing) looks great

That looks very nice Chris. Will it be plank on frame or a pre-formed hull?

It is plank on frame - first planking in limewood, followed by walnut. Very easy though, as the lines are very fine. Everything else is laser cut or photo etched. There will be a motor set availably separately, and the mounting beds for both motor and rudder servo are integrated into the hull design. I used the plans from James Pottinger (who is the expert in this type of vessel and has drawn many plans and written articles in many publications) for the hull lines and detail, and have been in direct contact with him during the development.
Not sure when it'll be out, though. Am stuck on other projects right now frown

Chris I am always stunned by your work and skills biggrin

So having a lot of spare time this spring with the end of a huge project at work, which kit would you suggest for an absolute beginer? I want to start small and then work my way up (if I can learn the skills lol!)
