Anybody been on a driving/bike trip to the Scandinavian countries? I fancy going with a few lads on bikes or even a car for about a week or maybe two, exploring the tunnels and lovely scenery!

Is there a ferry that goes there? What is the best way to get there? And time to go there? Anybody been in the longest tunnel in the world (15miles) in Norway?

Sadly it's not that easy to get there, it's not the cheapest place in terms of accomodation/fuel drinks prices however as you say well worth it when you do.

We're about to launch our Pistonheads tours for 2010 and Norway is one of the destinations, if you want a sneak preview then have a look here
http://www.petrolheadnirvana.com/tours/

It isn't cheap but then you have to factor in ferries, price of accomodation etc.
if it isn't for you feel free to give us a call after christmas and we can try and give you some pointers.

I'm looking to explore Norway next year and heading up to the Polar Circle.

Won't be so much as much of a hoon but an exploring / offroading adventure.

Used to be ferries that run direct into Bergen but alas they've stopped. We're currently working out alternative routes (possibly in via somewhere else and then getting the ferry to Norway).

Once I've planned it I'll let you know if you're interested.

I've taken the ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg in Denmark then it's straight run up to Hirtshals and a fast ferry over to Kristiansand in Norway.

Alternatively cross Denmark to Copenhagen and take the Oresund Bridge to Malmo.

Norway has the better driving roads but both have many cameras and a lot of low speed limits.

We did Dover to Calais on the Cannonball & the straight up to the Swedish East coast, 1100 miles in one hit, great trip, the night section was awesome, the bridge is also a must do. Top gear did a similar run a few years ago. Sweden was very expensive but is definately somewhere I will go back to. The scenery is gorgeous & the people are so friendly. The Police are very firm so dont push things tooo much. Study the weather before choosing when to go, it can be a bit wet
