I want to take the wife out for breakfast and she loves american style pancakes. Any recommendations for places to go? We live in Berkshire but I'd be happy to drive up to London.

McDonalds or just make some pancakes yourself and pour loads of maple syrup over them and cook some bacon until its extra crispy and some eggs over easy.

There is a place in Wiltshire called The Polly Tea Room. You get 3 american pancakes, crispy bacon and mapel syrup for £7.95.

Absolutely yummy. The nearest one to you would be the one at Marlborough.

'American style' pancakes are just scotch pancakes taken to America by Scottish immigrants. Google 'scotch pancake recipe' and make your own! smile

Not bad tbh! The wife had pancakes and maple syrup, I had pancakes, 2 x bacon, 2 x egg & 2 hash browns. With 2 bottomless filter coffees it came to £16. Ingredients were good, bacon tasted of bacon etc, and it was cooked and served well. Worth giving a try and we will go back in future.
