I've decided to (belatedly) store my bike up for a couple of months and it's the first time I've had to do this as I'm still reasonably new to motorcycling. I have a couple of questions I thought some of you may be able to help me with:

Fuel Stabiliser:

Can anybody recommend a product for this? I had a look in Halfords and spotted Wynns Dry Fuel. Would this be suitable to use as the fuel stabiliser?

Oil Filter:

My Honda manual mentions about changing the oil but nothing about the filter. Is it possible that the bike doesn't have a filter? It's a 1995 Honda CB Two Fifty.

Thanks

for the las few years including this year I have put the bike in the garage, indoor bike cover. clened it. Wax etc.., still fue in and done nothing else. when it get's warmer I start the bike up and never had any issues

So my tip would be make sure you have ACF50, the bikes clean and lubed and just put it away

Bike gets a service every March with new Oil and filter. thats it. apart from being looked after

don't worry too much

Would you happen to know how ACF50 compares with Muc-off Bike Spray? Is one better than the other or are they both more or less the same?

It will have an oil filter i bet, but the reason to change just the oil is that its the contaminates in old oil that can pool in bearings & erode them.

Personally, i'd fill the tank (to prevent rust) & just park it. but then mine never sit for too long.

Much off ( I don't use) I think cleans the crap off the bike. ACF50 is a spray to keep the rust at bay. you apply and leave it on to prtect the bike and componets from the elements

I think you may be confusing Muc Off Bike Cleaner (the pink liquid) with Muc Off Bike Spray (comes in an aerosol can). The Bike spray is also a water dispersant but since a lot of people have been recommending ACF50 I was just wondering how the two compare.

Didn't a lot of the Hondas employ a centrifugal oil filter ?

I seem to recall cleaning out a 125 once, fitted with a centrifugal filter. scratchchin

CGs did your right, I assumed larger engines would get a screw-on filter?
