IMO, it's very expensive for what is essentially a ring with 8 metal pins in it. If you think it's worth it though, you can get a set of three non-Canon tubes for a little more:

I think I paid about £60 for a similar set second-hand so it may be worth hunting around if you've got the patience.

Also consider that you can get a second-hand Sigma macro lens on eBay for £150-£200 or from a dealer for a bit more, for example here:

I hear that the Canon version comes with better quality air inside the tube but I'm quite happy with my set of Kenko tubes. biggrin

EDIT: I just looked at the link for Kenko tubes above but I'm sure I paid about £50 for my set a few years ago. Price must have shot up?!

Thanks everyone!, do the Kenko tubes effect the Autofocus, sharpness etc?

It can AF, but it will naturally be slower as there tends to be less light available (but it's the same with any extension tubes). It doesn't physically affect the sharpness but the images can become less sharp purely due to magnification/camera shake etc.

I wouldn't worry about the autofocus because you'll probably want to focus manually anyway, whatever equipment you use.
