Yes, when it all melts the sea levels will rise and you will die.

Get packing now and run for the hills.

Surely that should give you a clue..........

As for being worried, no, not in the slightest. Even if it does happen, just use something that was used fairly often about 7+ years ago before Labour got there teeth in....

Common sense!

-18c? It's not the end of the world. With the right clothes it can be fine, though I rather think the cars will struggle to start in those temps...............

Heavy snow? Look forward to that, I like snow, it's just the part melted slush and ice bit I don't like!

From metcheck - All of this weather combined will continue to result in hazardous travelling conditions for many people across northern Britain over the next few days, and extra time and care will be required if you have to travel.

Fingers crossed for another day off work then thumbup

Right-oh.

I drove from Penzance to Portland Bill last tuesday, a journey I was advised by the TV and Radio would be impossible, footage was shown of cars stuck, people slipping about and accident scenes, the best thing for me to do would be to stay at home, do not travel was the advice.

The reality was I had an excellent drive on dry roads from Penzance to Portland Bill and back, I was not impeded at all and did not even see a speck of rain let alone snow. There was a bit of frost in the morning when i set off but that vanished in the sun.

I got home that evening to more footage of chaos purportedly of the roads i had just traversed.

I found it odd that the cars filmed being stuck seemed to be Mk3 cavs and sierras, one or two metros and even a maestro. I am suspicious that the film crew got stuck in 1998 and have been sending film back via time capsule.

-18, like climate change I will believe it when it happens.

why should you be worried?

The national rail and road networks dont work in rain so you should be used to it, look at it this way, you will at least have powder snow rather than the wet slushy stuff we usually get.

Just wear some thicker trousers than just jeans... Im off to Tampere tomorrow and it should be at least -15 or so, the only different things i will be wearing is my snowboarding trousers and thicker socks when out for prolonged periods of time, other than that it dont change much from jeans.

-7 last week had the PD in the Lancer sounding most grumpy.

Though the MF135 was even grumpier, with enough smoke to fill a small county. biggrin
