We watched the original movie Jaws last night for the first time in ages and had forgotten how good it was. It brought back memories of being scared to go in the water as a kid after first seeing it. Can't be too many films leave such a big impression.

Just watched Jaws 2 tonight. Jeeeze. I am sure there must be worse sequels but wow, how poor and 3rd rate was that!

Still a film I will watch when on TV, even though I've seen it many times before.

Don't watch Jaws 3 (or 3d) or Jaws the Return then.

Nope. Don't think I will make an effort to either.
Didn't realise there were so many big sharks out there.

The book's a great read as well, even if you know the film inside out it's still different enough to be interesting.

A wise move.

Agree, any Jaws > 1 is best avoided. I saw Jaws 3d in the cinema, even with the added 3d effect it sucked.

I also bought the original Jaws on DVD a month or so ago. Still think it's a great movie, especially Robert Shaw cool

/nerd

there is a great out-take where Quint is in a music shop buying piano wire and there is a kid practicing violin and he ends up geeing this kid up playing faster and faster, very funny.

pity it didn;t make the final cut.

Jaws though is one of those films where if yuo start watching you have to watch it all the way through

Jaws 2 was annoying mostly because that bloody girl wouldn't stop screaming. Jaws was a great film, for me The Deep is on a par, Robert Shaw is pretty good in that. As is Jacqueline Bisset...
