Anyone else spending new years alone?
Discussion
Having just moved to a new town, I don't really have any friends yet. Old friends have moved to different parts of the country/world and can't travel too far as I have to work. So looks like its just me celebrating new year, - hoping there is something on TV!
Another option I have considered advertising as a babysitter, aside from it being rather lucrative on new years eve, it would give me something to do, but them despite having a CRB disclosure I dunno if any parents would want a complete stranger to look after their kids.
So anyone else on their how are you going to celebrate the new decade?

Surprised you don't have a boyfriend to keep you company! I've got two gratis tickets to the bash at my local boozer, but to be honest new year's eve over the years has lost its appeal for me.
It's the same old, same old. So I could quite cheerfully stay in and read.
Then again life's what you make it, so I might just make the effort and go.
After all, I've got 364 other days I can choose from to stay in and be a miserable git!
Roll on 2010.

I tend to like seeing the New Year in alone....a bottle or two, Jools Holland-Hootananny and the sofa. Been like that for the last 7 years (yep even when I was with the ex)
I usually end up watching jools, but only because mrs slopes gets the arse on at New Year and clears off to bed early, and makes it plainly clear that horizontal dips are OFF the menu.New Year Eve is usually a crap night out, anyway. Every pub is full of people who normally never go out or drink, and you soon realise why as soon as you have to talk to them.
I tend to have a few friends around, we listen to music, chat and get drunk at £1 a pint then pop into town at midnight to shake hands with a few people, then it's back home and a return to the alcoholism with people I actually like.
