Anyone have information if Jaguar are going to do another limited run of the XKR-S? I have heard of a limited edition 600bhp but cant find anything on the web.

Last thing the XKR needs is more power? Maybe an LSD and a BIG diet but it's not exactly lacking in go at the moment is it?

The one thing that the XK needs is the option of Recaro seats. The seats on the XFR are better than the ones on the XKR. It's such a glaring mistake I don't understand how it's allowed to happen.

Interesting, I love the seats on ours, only thing that lets them down is the leather isn't wearing as well as you'd expect after only 11k miles.

Probably weigh an absolute tonne though.

I am obviously not getting something here.

I had an 54 reg XJR whose seats were supportive, but lacked lumbar support. I had an 05 reg XKR without the Recaro option and found the seats pretty poor. I have a 56 reg S-Type Sport, and the seats in that are perfect in every way which means I can happily drive for hours in total comfort. I used to have a 986 Boxster, and the seats in it again lacked any element of side or lumbar support, and seriously affected the ownership experience.

During a recent dealer driving day, I tried the XFR which had sports seats and found it good (though not so good as the S-Type Sport seats.) I also tried the XKR 5.0 but found the seats again lacking in any side or lumbar support.

The result for me is that after half an hour I am writhing about in pain, or I keep a rolled up towel behind my back, which imho shouldn't be necessary in a car of that quality.

I would hope at some point to be able to buy an XK, but there is no way on earth I would do so if they don't do something about the seats. Mabe it's my shape. Do you not think they are lacking in support?

Well I suppose seat position and support is a very personal thing but find the ones on our 5.0 XKR excellent for both the range of adjustability and the side support. Lumbar support could be a little better (bit lower) but I'm nit-picking and have never been uncomfortable let alone in pain, even after a long (4hr) drive.

Definitely better in very respect than the 'sports' seats on my porsche 996.

I'm v fussy with my seats. The XKR fitted with the 16 way seats, I find very comfy, if not a bit a slippy with the premium leather, which is now standard. Did you try the bolster support switch? The XFR seats are excellent, but only been in one for a couple of hours so couldn't say for sure, but Jag are very proud of them. It's excellent news you can now spec them as an option on the rest of the XF range.

As for a new version of the XKR-S, not heard anything on this front, but you can be sure there is no smoke with out fire. The new XKR doesn't really need a LSD diff, now it has a fab e-diff.
