race license needed to race the nordscleife
Discussion
Hi,
I posted ages ago about possibly racing at the Nurburgring, but neglected to mention I don't know what license I would need.
Could I use a (UK) National A, or would I need an International C?
(am only after club-levels races, cheap as possible - certainly nothing professional or serious - guess I'm just asking because the circuit is outside the UK and my license is UK-issued and says 'National').
any help appreciated before I stick my renewal in the post to the MSA...
thanks
Shane

Depends on the type of event it is.
See the MSA FAQ's: http://www.msauk.org/site/cms/contentFAQViewer.asp...
If in doubt just call the MSA.

National B is fine for events such as VLN and CHC.
International C is required for the 24h.
I thought that you needed a UK Nat A to race in the VLN or CHC as "over the border" licences below Intl C are usually "dropped a grade", though I'm pleased if ADAC have embraced the "fact" that we are now one great European superstate, rather than fiercely nationalistic countries (tongue most firmly pressed against the inside of one's cheek).International C is required for the 24h.
