Hi
Well the plans come together,i like to push myself, and that was a big one.
I love it,got loads of questions, but if i become a pita i`ll get my coatbiggrin .
Will try and do a lot of the service work myself.
That might be a challenge in itself.
It is pretty clean, but i like to go the extra mile.so the big tidy is on,wheels off just to start.
Ah 1st question before i do something stupid, where are the best jacking points, seems to be a lot of
aluminum under there so don`t want to bend anything.
It has been great having a bit of time over xmas to enjoy it and read the owners book.
Got loads of things i want to do to it,in a nice way i hope, black wheels yellow calipers
window tint just to start of with.
Oh and just drive the thing right. pic time...................

cheers biggrin

I'm afraid I can't answer any of your questions as I'm useless mechanically. Just thought i'd say very nice looking car you have there! Looks pretty tidy to!

Rear jacking area on a gallardo is the round circle pressed out in the aluminium undertray, the fronts are on the main area of the chassis, by the front wheels.

Nice car and I'm liking the garage.

My brother is a Dental Technician, think I'm going to have to ask him why he's not driving a G.

Well done man, great car and great garage.

I will very interested to hear how you get on servicing and maintaining the Gallardo, I have largely taken to doing all the servicing on my Cerbera these days, obviously a bit easier to work on as the cerb is not a mid-engine layout but still has its challenges.

I have always had a hankering for a Lambo, probably where my heart will guide me next with a bit of luck, but what puts me off are specialist garage prices like 5k for clutch replacement, though I may be thinking on the murcielago there!

Your main problem, I would have thought, will be getting hold of service information as presumably Gallardo workshop manuals are closely guarded secret materials?

The other bit of kit I think you will need is a good engine hoist.

Good luck and enjoy, keep us posted how you get on.

Hi Bat,

Congrats on the purchase, Looks Very nice!!

The workshop manual is available on disk - albeit copys of course wink ,

I did have a copy a couple of years back - I will see if i can dig it out for you.

As for clutches, They're not too bad and can easily be done in a day with some help and an engine hoist.

Also it's worth bearing in mind if you intend to do work on it yourself;

The Front brake discs and pads are direct Audi RS4 fitment, And i beleive the rears may now be the same as the R8 or newer RS6.

Ok they do have Audi badges but when your saving over £1500 for the sake of a badge when the equipment is the same who cares? wink
