Hi guys, sorry its an old subject, repeated.
The car i bought (series 1 350) has 205/60/R15's on board. Tread is great, however as she sat for a long time, the sidewalls have perished. Dont see the point in changing two or three so gonna start afresh.
I have seen manufacturer names banded around on here B4 that i don't recognise, and rather than go to a local dealer or costco and be at the mercy of someone recieving backhanders to sell me something i don't need....i thought i would bother you guys for opinions.
They are strictly for road use and the car is standard if that helps.
Thanks in advance Gavinsmile

Gavin,

have a look at mytyres.co.uk

I'm not going to step into the "discussion" over which ones are best... The production of proper performance rubber in the standard size has virtually ceased, meaning that to get better performing rubber you have to change the wheels to 16",17" or even bigger rims.

Bear in mind the prices are usually without fitting etc, but do include delivery. I had to "import" a pair of Goodyear NCT's from mytyres to make up a set of four, I couldn't get them for love nor money in this country.

Also bear in mind that only a small percentage of the mytyres list will be available from anywhere else.

Brian (and a Red 350i)

Step down a profile size and fit the tyre that the factory were recommending before they went bump: SP SPORT 9000 205/55 ZR15 ZR. A great tyre (also available from Mytyres.)

Toyo T1Rs are very popular, depending on if you can get the size.

Falkens seem to get good reports too.

I've put their ZE912s on my MGZS daily driver, which has 205/50 x 16s on it.

Bear in mind that a 350 only needs V rated tyres (i.e. up to 149mph) rather than Z's. I used to run Yokohama AVS on my 350 years ago, and was happy with them. I use Toyo Proxes T1S at present, but they don't do a 60 profile in your size.

Thank you Brian/JR/Graham and #7.
Looked at that site and compared it to Blackcircle......the latter appears to be much cheaper for the equivelents. Are the Falken ones Ziex ZE 912 the ones you guys are talkin about as they don't have a customer satisfaction star next to them (good value)...but there seems to be no other "model" on either site!!

This is where I got my info' from (sized for my MG) 4 star customer rating.

http://www.blackcircles.com/public/order?view=stan...

If you're not doing a lot of miles you're probably better off with the really grippy Toyo Proxes, and just accept the higher wear rate. I put them on my old 390. They're supposedly quite good in the wet too...not that I ever really put that to the test.

I simply read a few reviews on tyres related to my particular car and then ordered them through my local tyre fitter. They were there the next day.

Yes, that's a nice tyre at a good price. Did you know that there is a PH promotional code? (I'd still switch to 55 profile though.)
