Why is it that in somewhat tense political squabbling, foreign countries statements are always translated in a way that makes them seem infantile and savage?

This often happens with Iran. I am sure that the original context of the comments in Pursian are not half as ridiculous sounding as the BBC makes out.

For example: "Designers of the unrest will soon pay the cost of their insolence"

I just can't believe that they would actually say that confused

Isn't it just possible that they might have said "Organisers of the protests will be dealt with by the justice system" or something to that effect?

"Britain will receive a punch on the mouth if it does not stop the nonsense." is quite funny though hehe

No, they actually talk like that. They think our politicians talk like a bunch of nancies.

They've got a point.

Actually they have a dictatorship, they don't have to worry about offending any voters. hehe

Agreed. That is usually the more accurate translation of what they're saying.

Rhetoric is a funny thing really...It really adds a theatrical element to an otherwise dull speech.

Picture Obama, rather than being the diplomatic & approachable leader he is...Saying in a press conference:

"& if Iran decides it's want to screw us around, we will probably have to beat the crap out of Ahmadinejad till the guy see's some sense out of the veil of propaganda driven dictatorship he's created."

Political posturing, gotta love it...Reminds me of the playground fights of my dads gotta bigger car than your dad.

hehe
