Just seen a bit off this on Sky news and would recommend as interesting & learnt a bit- especially for us youngsters who wern't around. It's interviewing this guy in his 90's who was Hitlers bodyguard and in the bunkers when he died.

Has a few strange views though e.g. on holocost "yes but there is not a single war where abuse does not happen, not one throughout history"

He still calls him 'the boss' and told about how Goebels wife killed her kids after Hitler died, as didnt want them to outlast him, refused requests to fly them out of the country.

Some good archive pics and vids too. (Did you know Hitler kept rabbits at his holiday retreat in the alps lol)

Why is that strange? He is/was a NAZI!

Was a soldier drafted in as a bodyguard after he did 'well' in Poland which is not necessarily the same, in times of dictatorship many will go along with it and turn a blind eye, as the other option means poverty/punishment e.g. the Pianist movie was based on a true story and didn't an officer assist him.

All German soldiers swore an oath of allegiance to Adolf Hitler - and they took that oath very seriously.

But we're talking aboot the guard of Hitler's body here. A man who would throw down his life for his charge, if he wasn't a committed NAZI then he must have been paid very well. And he does have a point aboot atrocities being committed in war.
