Try the search facility on this forum - not too long ago one of the glass manufacturers/suppliers was selling new items.

We have had both side glasses remade to the original specification. The first batch of fifty pairs sold out over eighteen months and the second batch was delivered to us about eight weeks ago.

Yes, windscreens usually in stock, manufactured on the original tooling by Pilkington (formerly Triplex). We also keep screens for Vixen, Taimar, S Series and V8S on the shelf. More importantly we have people capable of fitting them.

Phil,

You may wish to add that Pilkington will happily make you a new screen in any tint/top tint combo!

BTW, what that 530dTA Sport you have, a production or modified model?

My daily hack is a E39 530d tourer.

Thanks for the prod about the tints on the screen. Pilkington will do virtually anything in terms of colour and will even do heated screens for a minimum order of less than ten. Cost is about £120-£140 more than standard as a guideline.
We get involved in all sorts of specials and prototype work; I was involved in the Noble M600 from the early stages and all of the glass was supplied by us.

The first one that I had was an E39 530dT manual from new in 2002 through to 2007. It was bought as a personal import from a dealer in Germany, saving around £8K over list. E maps did a remap to 230BHP at about 70,000 and the car was sold in late 2007 with 130,000 miles showing.
Current car is a March 2007 530dT auto, one of the first LCI cars with reduced emissions. It was bought as an ex BMW car in October 2007 with 2,200 miles, saving £11K over list. Remap to 270BHP was done very shortly after purchase and it has now covered 85,000 miles in 27 months.
Fuel consumtpion around town is not as good as the manual car, normally around 30mpg but normal out of town driving is 36-40mpg.
