Fuel pipe upgrade tank/pump to filter
Discussion
Slightly related to this Topic.
The pipe from the tank failed on mine recently due to I believe the fasteners not doing their job correctly.
It went back to the approved TVR dealer for fixing, and all now appears to be OK.
However, when you lift the boot lid after it has been closed overnight there is a distinct whiff. of petrol. There is no smell in the cabin.
I have checked all round for any signs of leakage but cannot see any. Being new to the Tuscan is this something I should expect?
Also whilst investigating, could someone inform me what the circular piece of rubber is for which is in the floor of the chassis directly underneath the centre of the fuel tank.It is not attached to anything apart from the floor itself, and mine appears to have tear in the rubber through which you can see the road. Is it so the tank can be drained from underneath?
Regards.

Could be the carbon cannister needs a change? The pipe from the tank failed on mine recently due to I believe the fasteners not doing their job correctly.

I had thought the rubber ring was simply a grommet to stop the fuel pipe rubbing?
Fittings are all normall Jubilee clips. Think there are a couple of loose-ish ty-wraps as well to keep the pipe up on the chassis members.
The large rubber grommet covers the bottom fitting to the fuel tank. You'll need to peel it out from underneath to see the main fuel hose banjo union to the tank. Big socket and it comes undone, using a copper washer to seal if I recall. You'll need something to catch the dregs of the petrol of course.
Might be a petrol whiff from the union...or the garage split some fuel in the boot...I did this too and it took ages to clear but once it went away its totally "whiff free". Inside the boot at the bottom of the main flat panel that covers the tank, there are a couple of pop rivets. If you remove these the bottom couple of inches of panel fold upwards so you can touch the bottom union and see if its leaking.
