I was 40, got married, got promoted, managed 3 trips abroad, got out of debt and bought an Alfa.
So who else had a good one? (Except the bloody Alfa money pit).

i managed to buy my first house, and stay employed.

considering the circumstances, and compared to some, a good year i think

oh and as this IS pistonheads, i got my first BMW. And a damn fine machine it is too! Now, back to going sideways!

Changed job, moved house, several average women, had an operation, bought a BMW, smoked in the region of 5000 tabs.

Probably the least eventful year of the last ten. Not much good or bad happened. Did not buy or sell a car, divorce or marry,get a horrible illness,win the lottery,or write a book. Overall, it was a sort of low grade boring year with lots of mildly depressing newscasts,and I am quite glad its over.

New job. Kids continue to grow. Reconnected with "lost" family. No money worries. Generally happy... but...


... lost my beloved Dad, which on balance tips the year quite into the negative.

Business excellent, relationship excellent. Though this year disapointed me overall. Not sure why

Started about as bad as I thought it could.

Subsequently proved I was wrong about that.

Ended brilliantly, joyously, magnificently.

Don't ever want to repeat, but ultimately a good 'un, oddly enough.

passed direct access and got a proper bike

split up the with gf
found said gf has left me with a shed load of debt.

Good: Got a new house for less than valuation after ours was on the market for a total of 6 days (got a good offer).
Got a newer car with more toys and more power.
Went to Germany on the bike for some proper touring.
Still got a job on the 2 on 3 off rota, which is quite nice really.

Bad: My mum died on the 15th of Jan after a long battle with MS.
My sister also has MS and is now past the point where there are ups and downs, now it's just downs.
My brother in-law is an alchoholic and was admitted to hospital again renently for liver and kidney failure as he won't stop drinking.
My dad has heart problems and is really struggling with work.

So for everyone around me its been pretty bad. I've been Ok money wise but it's been a pretty crap year to be honest.

Was made redundant in January, got a new job in March and got promoted last month, did lots of trevelling (but not enough), lost 2 stone, joined PH ...

That's about it, really. It hasn't been a great year and I can't wait for the start of the new one.
