Which fuel pipe to use?
Discussion
Hi chaps,
I am ready to fit out the fuel hoses in my build. I recall some time ago discussions about hoses that became permiable over a period of time. I have been looking at the range of goodrich hoses specifically the PTFE lined ones. Is this the way to go or is there a cheaper route?
Many thanks and Happy New Year!

Yes, I had the smelly engine bay problem so borrowed a gas sniffer from work to investigate.
I got no readings alongside the aero style fittings but got higher readings when held alongside the hose than I got with the probe stuck down the barrel of the carb.
PTFE lined will be good but there are cheaper versions than Goodrich.

Just looking on the Goodrich website:

The 811 series hose looks very good as a PTFE alternative. Anyone used this?

I have a carbon filter on my GTR. Buy a carbon filter, cut it in half, save the carbon. I built an alloy box that fit in the pocket formed in the forward upper corner of the body, another words the spot just behind the passengers head in the engine compartment. The alloy box is split vertically to about 90 % of its height, the fumes come in at the right hand side at the bottom, go up through the carbon, transition horizontaly into the left chamber and go down to the exit on the bottom left hand side and out. The two gasoline fill tubes that attach to the body below the filler cap have a AN fiiting threaded into the side of the filler tube and these Tee and go to the filter inlet discribed above. I welded a bung onto the box which feeds both chambers so that I could load the carbon I also thought that eventually the carbon might get saturated and that being able to change the carbon without destroying my box would be a good thing.
