I ordered a monitor for my daughter, despite being in stock one week later an email saying out of stock , sorry no idea on when it can be delivered. ok its now the 17th Dec, order a different one, paid express delivery and due to be delievered on the 22nd Dec, no problem there either, oh dear, it's not coming now, it maybe the 29th before it gets there. Ho Hum, email Amaz0n and request delivery refund, they paid up and say wait until the 29th, it should be there.
Today is the 30th, my parcel is stuck and has been stuck with the Citi-link delivery service which is over the last 2-3 years been the worst I have ever had the displeaseure to encounter.......

I'm looking for options folks; apart from cancellation which puts me back at square one 3 weeks down the line?

anything worthy to add?

TIA

I ordered a punchbag that weighs a ton (ish) at about 4pm on the 17th and was woken by City Link delivering it on the 18th. I also ordered a Xbox game at 18.25 on the 22nd, arrived on the 23rd. No complaints about Amazon here.

Was it actually Amazon of was in from Amazon Marketplace?

Amazon themselves are one of the few truly reliable internet companies in my experience.

The marketplace is a different story and is only a short step up from Ebay.

Was it actual Amazon or one of the Amazon marketplace sellers? I've had no probs with Amazon at all.

Lots of courier firms had issues with the bad weather before xmas.

Might be worth being reasonable and understanding about it. Or you could write a pointless rant on an unrelated website that wont have any impact whatsoever on the situation.

Yep,

Ordered something for guaranteed delivery on Christmas eve. Paid £8.50 for the privilege. It turned up yesterday.

I complained when it didn't arrive as promised and got my £8.50 back. They blamed it on the weather, however, that didn't stop them continuing to offer guaranteed delivery and charging for it when they knew bloody well they couldn't honour the guarantee.

grrr!

ETA: To be fair, it probably wasn't entirely Amazon's fault. It did come by Royal Mail Special Delivery

Ordered quite a few bits from them and only one was a bit slow, but all arrived well in time for Christmas.

I had the same problem as a few people who have posted so far. I ordered on the 22nd and paid £8 for guaranteed delivery on the 23rd. Today I recieved a card from the royal mail, dated the 24th, which is a lie as they definitely posted it today. Also, I was in at the time they put on the card. I will definitely be getting my money back from Amazon, as I no longer need the parcel.

So true. Ordered a few books via the marketplace and one failed to be dispatched, let alone arrive. To their credit, Amazon were brilliant and kept me updated by email and eventually cancelled the order and refunded my monies.

Ordered a load of little bits for Christmas one of which didn't turn up. Every email I sent to the supplier came back with a request to confirm the delivery address. I have asked for a refund from them several times and have now raised a dispute with Amazon and my card issuer. It's the only time I've been let down by an Amazon supplier.

I bought all my family xmas pressies from Amazon and didn't have a problem with buying from Amazon themselves or sellers in the market place.

Ebay however.... furious

that sounds like Royal Mail's fault, not Amazons? Amazon will refund you the money though.

I've had nothing but great service from Amazon, the marketplace however isn't as good, but still got everything here early

I didnt say it was amazon's fault, the Royal mail are clearly at fault, yet again.

I had this happen with Royal Mail too.

I actually watched the postie put the card into the mail box as I sat at the back door.
He had made no attempt to find out if anyone was in and he certainly didn't have any parcels on him.

Amazon however have always been great for me.
Don't think anyone can complain too much about delivery problems just now.

Actually it was Amazon, not the market place, the courier is in Ipswich 23 miles down the road from me, I have been refunded the express delivery, but thats hardly the point, yes the weather was difficult round here 2/3 days before Christmas, but they've since had 3 days to deliver, when I have been able to get to Ipswich.

And it's not a rant, I wanted to voice my concerns, and gain some idea if anyone else had had any difficulties and what they had expected as follow up from Amazon, hardly a rant now is it.

Between my wife and I we ordered about a dozen different items from Amazon which all arrived in plenty of time, and no need for guaranteed delivery! However the two items ordered from Argos were a total disaster. We received some dolls clothes instead of a Star Wars Lego Set (and yes the order was definitely for lego) and the Subaru Airfix Kit box was all ripped. It was meant to be delivered on the Friday between 9am and 6pm. Was actually delivered at 7pm but wife had popped out with the dog so they left a card. Two options are to phone an automatedservice at 10 p a minute or organise redelivery online. Do it online for delivery on Monday. Watch on Sunday as delivery company delivers to neighbours both sides! Wait in all day Mondy no delvery. Phone delivery company on Manday finally breaking out the automated call service, to be told the online re-deliver change hadn't worked!

Thing is op if you ordered stuff and it came as expected you wouldn't have posted a thread about getting your stuff would you! While i'm sure you're situation is a bit if a pain I think Amazon are one of the better online sites.

I've used them many times and I've never had a problem as most people have reported. smile

I hope you get your stuff soon.

Smiler.

They now use sty-link. They can't tell where consignments are, but you could hang around their depot for a bit.

I don't think it's fair to blame Amazon.
