..a funny thing has started happening".

It keeps oscillating when I'm idling. The revs, I mean. Sort of going up to 2000 then back to 1000 then back up again.

And then there's that funny turn I've started having with me lubrication. My old oil pressure just isn't what it used to be. Used to move smartly up to 45 on cold starting and then move freely about between that and 60. But now it takes some time to get up there and when it does it moves around quite slowly.

Matey down the pub thought nursey might need to give me stepper motor a once-over and have a quick fiddle with the connection on me oil pressure sender unit.

What do you think Doc - is it terminal?

Nah! "They all do that sir" well mine does periodically. I just drive through it now.
Or pull over shut off engine, give it a minute and restart.

Cleaning stepper motor is never a bad thing, and a squirt of WD 40 doesn’t go amiss either. OH
