Hi folks,

Got a xbox 360 elite (to add to the ps3 and wii) from santa, and was away to buy MW2. Which console do you recon it's better on? I've only played forza 3 on the xbox so don't have much to compare it against to the ps3.

Any help would be great,

Neil.

Graphics are ever so slightly better on the PS3 IMO but the online experience is much better with the Xbox. It's just easier to jump in, find friends etc. As a personal preference I also think the xbox pad is better for my huge hands!

I'd go for the X-Box 360 version as the controller is better suited to First Person Shooters.

Which ever console your mates play it on, I doubt they differ much between PS3/Xbox.

Isn't XBL MW2 gameplay riddled with online hackers/s?

No, not riddled. PSN was actually far worse last week.

XBL at least take a hard line on glitchers and hackers, handing out temporary or permanent bans from time to time. PSN doesn't seem to do anything about them, and there's no simple way to file complaints about them.

How does the PC version compare with the console versions? I usually prefer playing shooters on PC (BF2142 etc).

I would imagine it is much tougher for PSN as it isn't a subscription service. There is nothing stopping you just setting up a new account.

Sony seem to be quicker at getting the patches through their quality control and available for download. PSN had the update a couple of weeks ago that fixed most of the issues, but the following day someone figured out a new way to do the caredrop glitch. As far as I have seen this is the only glitch that is cropping up over and over again on the Playstation version.

Infinity Ward need a slap for not fixing this sooner, but I suppose it was inevitable that glitches would be found when a game sells as strongly as MW2 has.

Infinitely better. No stupid thumbsticks, just the new and revolutionary tech thats simple, fast and accurate, a mouse.

I was with you until the 2nd half of this sentence. IIRC MW2 was the most pre-ordered game in gaming history and I'm pretty sure it was also the highest first weekend grossing game of all time. (i.e. it made lots of money and was predicted to make lots of money.) You'd think that the developers would get the blimmin thing working before they release it.

IMO I would rather go back to not having updates made availible. That way developers (that means of games and software) would have to get the thing working and properly tested before release, rather than releasing something half finished to hit a deadline on the basis that they can patch bugs that come up later. I would prefer to see developers who have gaping holes in their code suffer financially, as no one will want to buy their games any more and so the quality will go up.

I know choice etc may go down with fewer games and more expense due to more testing, so maybe a middle ground could be achieved? Like patches are allowed but MS fines companies for releasing half finished games. (That would be a bit hypocritical given the sheer volume of MS patches release on a weekly basis for windows products, but hey ho.)
