After a long and very dignified fight against cancer, my Dad finally succumbed early this morning cry
Even though we knew it was coming I'm totally numb as he was such an inspiration to me (and many others) and it was typical of his character to get through Christmas Day. Just needed to get it off my chest - RIP Red.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Words can't help at this moment but stay strong for those around you. Think of the happy times you had together before he became ill and have happy memories of him not sad.

It'll be tough for you over the next few weeks. Keep your chin up, and remember the good times.

Sorry to hear your news. I lost my father two years ago and it still hurts sometimes. Went up to the cemetary to visit the grave on boxing day (my dad's b'day) and had a quick chat with him.

As others have said, focus on the good times you had together and never forget him.

I'm really sorry mate, lost my dad to cancer 9 weeks ago tomorrow and it still doesn't seem real. 12 weeks ago, none of us even knew he had cancer so it's been a hell of a whirlwind. Times like this, families come together to draw support from each other.

All I can say is don't be too hard on yourself if you don't react or feel like you think you should be doing. I've had quite a bit of guilt that I have not broken down into pieces since he died.
