Picked up the 335i recently and a round of applause to the previous owner who fitted non runflats!!! Hadn't even spotted this when I did the deal!!!

Drives so much better than a previous 3 series that have had the displeasure of runflats fitted....

Whoever it is .... Thanks!!!

Indeed. Did you buy it from an approved BMW dealer? If so, they will have deducted the cost of fitting new rfts from previous owner's trade in on the grounds that they'd not seel it without. If they have then it's a nice little earner.

Indeed it was a AUC, so surprised to see the non rft's. Prefer them though and may part explain the decent price I got it for.

Did you find a mobility kit in the boot to get you out of trouble?

I have often heard of BMW dealers deducting the price of a new set of RfT's if a customer tries to trade a car in without them. Might be some scope for some free money off or servicing should you inform them of their error wink

Yes mobility kit included...whilst I prefer the Non-RFT's...is it worth claiming to them RFT's should be on as standard? Don't want them calling my bluff and changing them!!

Cars can now be specced with real tyres, so they can also be sold as AUC with real tyres and a compressor too.

Not sure what your basis for a complaint would be - the spec is valid/complete/safe/legal etc.

As a data point my AUC E61 came with conventional tyres as the original owner fitted them as well as a space-saver spare and jack.

No worries, like them in pref to the Runflats...

Proper tyres are usually around 10% higher pressure wise.

thanks for that, currently running 39 front and 42 rear as per quoted on door sill, another 10% on these sounds high?

On a slightly different note, I made some preliminary enquiries on trading in my 545i sport which has Racing Dynamics fitted in lieu of the MV2s that came with the car. When I told the salesman the car had "non-OEM wheels", he immediately told me he would take £500 off the price of my car, Needless to say my enquiry went no further..............

After experiment, I found the same pressure felt right on my Z4's 18s (F1 Asymmetrics) but I needed an extra 0.1bar on the 120D M Sports's 17s (Sportcontact2, or is it contactsport2, oh well, you know).

Some tyres have firmer side walls than others so I'd imagine there isn't a hard and fast rule. Side wall height will make a difference too, presumably.

Why does this surprise you?

Unless you expect a BMW dealer to sell your car whilst wearing it's non-OEM wheels?
