whats these pipes for on the inlet manifold?
Discussion
Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the small hole is behind the throttle butterfly but before the injector on the inlet manifold. There is one in each inlet tract that feed into a common rail that runs the length of each inlet manifold. These are then connected together via a rubber hose and connector into the bottom of the air box. There is also another hose joined into this connector that goes out of the rear of the engine bay, but I do not know where it ends up....may be the fuel tank breather?. Can I remove these and block off the fittings?

Sure the one going through the engine bay is atmospheric pressure for the ECU. You probably wont notice the slightest bit of difference with it disconnected.
How does it measure atmospheric pressure when its connected to the inlet manifold, I would have thought that this is under constant vacuum as its in the inlet tract?. I thought these pipes might be for tickover or idleling balance? a1rak said:

If they are the tappings I think you mean, all mine are blanked off using small stainless steel cap head screws. A photo of the said items would be of great help here.Regards
