I find it unbelievable that people would even try to sue over this.
As someone put on the comments section, if this ruling went through, it would be the same as car manufacturers being responsible for every speeding offence.

Exposure to noise and hearing damage are not simply related to instantaneous volume. Length of time of exposure is also very important.

I'd rather see some proactive steps taken on this. It isn't immediately obvious to most people how easily hearing damage can occur, and right now, its irreversible. I don't believe that manufacturers should be held responsible, but I certainly believe that some kind of industry-wide standard should be adopted so that people can reduce their exposure to hearing damage.
