Kids - they surprise you sometimes!
Discussion
My daughter, who is not yet out of primary school, posted this on Facebook just now -
"A little something for 2010: Wow, a whole other year just gone past, When you actually think about it life goes pretty fast, It ends always completely and utterly sadly, It starts always magically and totally gladly, Bang, fizz and boom as the fireworks come, 2009, it wonderfully came, but now it has gone....."
I dont know where that came from, but hey!

I can't remember what I was like when I was 10, but I would imagine those kind of things didn't come out of ten year olds mouths. I should add I was a ver intelligent young person, it all went wrong at about 14.
Also, giving your kid facebook at that age...hmmm...
What, FaceBook is somehow worse than what she might find on the internet as a whole, is it?Also, giving your kid facebook at that age...hmmm...
She's 11 , for what its worth, and if you would care to enlighten me on what I would have to gain by making it up, I'd be grateful.

Apart from that, nice thing to write

No, but there's a reason that facebook has a minimum age....I suggest you read some of the stories regarding people pretending to be people they're not behind facebook chat and then think about what she does with her account....

Thats fair enough, but she isn't friends with anyone she does not personally know - about 20 in all.Apart from that, nice thing to write

She knows enough about the perils of the internet to be wary, should the need arise, but as she does not have unsupervised access to it , I dont worry unduly.

Parents who are 'friends' with their children on Facebook is just strange
Perhaps they are just "keeping an eye on them" for their own safety?Rollcage said:

If your 11 year old really did write it, it is quite a depresing view of life for someone of that age.
