Hi folks

I've been given the green light to go and buy myself a little project car, only with one catch, I can't keep it at home and work on it on the drive! SWMBO says it's a non-starter!

Anyways, do any of you midlanders know where I can acquire myself some space to securely store and work on the project? Will need a reasonable space, as i'm considering a landy!! Heatin and power would be a massice bonus but not a necessity.

Cheers

Its worth ringing a few local farms to see if they have any spare space in the corner of a barn somewhere

I have been looking for ages without much luck. Either the owner doesn't want you to work on the vehicle and it's storage only or it's mega money.

On the Charnwood borough council website there is a form you can download and complete for renting a garage from them, there is a waiting list, but the less fussy you are about location the quicker your name will come to the top. I have one in a great spot and pay £5.25 a week for it. The door broke and they repaired it within 2 hours (!), so a decent service for a fair price IMO. Good luck.
Thanks for the reply here. I'm having a dig around now, but i'm struggling to find it on their website! It's great for telling me if I have a tree prevention order on my house, but no good at actually making the council any money in garage rental!

I've had a quick look and can't find it either ! Try contacting 'em by phone here, they were pretty good when I originally dealt with 'em > http://www.charnwood.gov.uk/pages/contact_housing

If you get really stuck, email me, mine may be surplus to requirements later this year wink
Hi mate, I think I found the correct form, is this it:-
