I wonder why the guy was telling him he could use only 'sport' mode, that is weird no? i wonder if the LH would of been handled like that from the AMG boys?

To save the tyres and stop him drifting?

Ye i grab that but really, isn't it worth a set of tyres for all the media to say they were having an amazing drive and day with AMG, i mean really maybe on the grounds of safety, he could of said please drifting to a minimum but please leave it in sport! lol.

Anyone remember Antonio Pizzonia's attempt at something similar in the Jag?

Gotta find it...

Sutters was a very luck guy - that could have been fatal quite easily. Love the way he is checking AP is ok!

lol, good find, mate. Didn't actually look that fast to be fatal, the gravel trap scrubbed of a lot of that speed well. Although they really should of been wearing helmets incase that roof came any closer!

Sorry to thread-jack but it's kind of why the AMG guys were so strict with JB. It's technically their responsibility and if JB got something wrong like AP did, they may have been liable or something crazy.

It looks like AP took F1 entry speed into that turn for me. Totally forgot he was driving a road car!

I remember something similar when was sitting in the "grub" garage at Jerez while working with Stewart GP. Rubens came in for lunch, sat down on our table and was most gracious.

Johnny Sherbert came in, grabbed his grub, sat opposite to me, offered his hand "Hello, I'm Johnny, I'm a driver" (Rubens grinned wryly)
Lunch was a right hoot.

You're right, defo wise to have words with the F1 drivers before taking passengers out, but this guy from AMG was taking the pi**. I just hope his guy from Mercedes-Benz/AMG is around to give Michael Schumacher the same advice/tips (especially on where the gear-shift paddles are) next year - That would make for interesting viewing smile

Cheers.

Maybe they thought the car wouldn't take it...

AMGs are quite fragile actually. That and tyre-wear would have been the issue on that day.
