I have been experimenting with something very similar using tinted/smoked thermoplastic and a crude vacumn mould. The biggest problem was fitting which I am still working on and the fact that it affects the headlight power through the smoked finish, even a light smoke. I suppose you could make them removable for night driving (sort of defeats the object-clear doesn`t look so good either). I couldn`t find anything available off the shelf and it costs alot to have proper moulds made up etc.If you could get enough people though......

I have tinted lights on my truck. They are not covers. So removing them for night driving isnt even an option. What i can tell you is that they are xenons and having them on at night makes no difference in the light output. They are as bright as any other car with zenons......

I really dont think you wil have any problems with tinted covers on yours coupled with a H.I.D conversion.

I have done the HID conversion albeit on the H7s so may not be getting as much candlepower as yours but the covers need to be quite dark to look `right` and that is the problem. In clear they just don`t have the same effect. They look good on your truck though.

Although you cant really see it from the pic. They are actually a lot darker than that. The other thing you can do is tint the covers with film. A good tinter should be able to heat shrink the film to the curvature of the perspex.

Pretty sure Mark are the Tamora lights, fitted by Glassman.

My headlights are the latest chimera headlamp covers with tamora headlight units. The conversion was done by plasticman. I am not sure if the wing profiles are the same on the cerb and chim but I do know it was quite a bit of work getting the light covers to fit nicely. Best speak to plasticman.
