Any ideas please.

2003 Punto 1.2 Active 8 valve. When really cold it will not recognise the ignition key. The dash key light stays on and I have to keep turning the ignition on and off until I hear the fuel pump and the key light goes out. The car then starts.

This only happens when its really cold in the morning or if its staring for the 1st time on a cold day.

Thanks in advance.

would that cause this fault ? I have topped the battery up but the green still is not showing in the battery window. I will get a new one to see if this sorts it out.

My 1998 Mk1 Punto does this as well. I believe it's linked to a dodgy relay on the bulkhead, I just never got round to fixing mine before I got banned.
