One question ...... Why?

Snake oil? It's not making any claims to increase performance or anything, it's quite clearly stating it's just a bit of fun to make a bit of noise.
Like spokey-dokeys on your old bike. All it does is make a fun sound.
I can see 'why' - it's fun, isn't it? Just a bit of a laugh, making your exhaust sound weird and a bit different to the norm.
As long as they're not making silly claims about increasing performance / reducing fuel consumption or any other BS like that, and are honest about it just being a bit of fun, then I don't see why anyone would object to these products...
If your car is fast, handles brilliantly and otherwise well set up, but has a boring engine note, then I can really see the appeal of things like this. I have an Exige - and the entire Lotus Elise / Exige community has a massive turnover of different exhaust silencers because the engines used in the cars sound boring. They're lightweight sports cars, and thus have inline fours from various shopping cars (Rover K series, Toyota 2ZZ, then the engine conversions of Honda K20 and Audi turbo). Inline fours like this aren't really that charismatic in terms of engine note, and when the car looks as sporty as the Lotus, it'd be nice to have a sporty sound to go with it. Hence why so many Elise / Exige owners swap their exhausts for 'sports' zorsts with more noise.
However inline fours with sports exhausts just sound like inline fours, but louder... and potentially too loud for trackdays. Some piece of kit that made the exhaust sound 'different' in a good way would sell like hot cakes. We'd all like V6s or V8s in our Elises but they don't fit.
As long as this little device doesn't obstruct flow enough to impact performance, it looks like it could be fun. I'd buy a little insert that made my car sound different to a fast hairdryer, and I don't consider myself a 'twat' for wanting my Lotus to sound a little bit more interesting...
I may even buy one of these just for the hell of it. I've already got a superb quality 2bular exhaust on the car, but it's intentionally quiet (for trackdays) - making a crazy whistle would be fun.
Lighten up!
