"Cancelled order" or someone trying to make a bit of money? scratchchin Although I suppose if someone's on the list to get an early order (which this must be), then it's possible their source of income has gone downhill since then with the economic situation.

Love the car either way smile Apart from those stupid mirrors they have to have by law frown I think I'd get a body shop to resize them, they look stupid being that size!!!

My friend took delivery of his on new year's eve (registered from the first of Jan). And whilst I've not yet been for a drive in it, I did have a sit in it and a good look round and I have to say it's a very nice car.

Or what I mean is; I didn't think I'd find it as attractive as I did. I appreciate it's horses for courses and all that.

My understandng was RR had ten pretty much pre-specc'd cars they wanted to get out on the market and despite customer spec options being limited my friend was happy to take one of these cars. I think he was the 2nd person to get one (but who ever knows with these things?).

I'll feed back more when I've been in it and will try and get some decent photos. I'm not sure on exact spec. It's black, with the silver middle bonnet thing, cream/ivory/white leather and black piano wood, with the visible (massive!) exhaust pipes.

Two things occur to me...

1) How low are those heater controls on the centre console..?!?! Pretty poor ergonomics there...

2) The switches to the right of the steering wheel look tacky.

Otherwise, quite like it. smile

The centre console is quite high though so it's probably the equivalent of touching your knees while sitting down, not that difficult IMO. And the switches are the same as you'll find on a phantom IIRC.

I think its a tidy looking car, and I far prefer it to the Phantom which is just gigantic in reality.

The photo makes it look a long way down... and looking down there to adjust the temperature just makes me think that eyes are off the road for too long...

I think it's a gorgeous car with the mirrors the only (minor) letdown. Will only get to see it in the flesh at a presentation in Montreux in February but am sure not to be disappointed

I think the Ghost is far moe attractive than the Phantom; and from the outside it has the Mulsanne beeten hands down, but I am not so sure about the interior - on that score, I think the Bentley may have it - more traditional, less BMW / Audi.

To be honest, seeing how it's got full climate control you're probably not going to need to adjust things too often anyway. It's not a MkII Escort after all smile

I had a passenger ride in my mate's ghost yesterday.

I'll caveat my thoughts by saying its the first modern Rolls I've ever been in.

As I expected it's very very very comfortable. Despite the 20" wheels, which I thought might affect the ride, this was like the good old cliched wafting around on air. Never been in anything like it in that respect.

It's also fairly rapid, although because of the ride quality and the type of vehicle it is (heavy/wafty) you don't really feel the speed as the primary part of the experience. As with a Range Rover (and other such vehicles) you don't realise how fast you're going - and given the wieght/size of the things, it's quite funny smile

Although many of you will be much more familiar with these types of vehicles than I (rolls/bentley etc) it did feel nice and 'traditonal' inside to me.

And the centre console bit - didn't seem high up once sat in the car. i.e. my mate who was driving, was happily and comfortably navigating through all the iDrive gubbins smile.
