Puts the Cerbera in it's list of all time top 20 worst cars ever! And the original Fiat 500 in it's best says it all....
If the mag is anything like the programme then its just trying to be provocative and to make a story out of nothing. We all know that JC loved the cerbera. I hear that there is a chance that Top Gear will be binned soon, hopefully the mag will follow suit ! God awful.
Dont take Top Gear seriously, it's long ceased to be a serious Motoring programme, It's sadly become just an Entertainment programe, with an increasingly diminishing Motoring Theme, and a means for 3 blokes with an interest in cars to enjoy themselves and have fun..................... The lucky b

The magazine has nothing to do with the show, isn't a bad read TBH.
IIRC it was originally set up by Clarkson but other than having a column in there each month he isn't involved in it's production.
OK OK...been biting my tongue on this trying to be the bigger person....its just a mag...they are entitled to their opinion...etc...etc but its doing my head in now!!! IIRC it was originally set up by Clarkson but other than having a column in there each month he isn't involved in it's production.
...on what basis was the Cerbera placed in the top 20 worst cars?

FFS! Wind your necks in!
The TVR brand is a very niche market, the Cerb more so. It's a kit car that was built in a shed in Blackpool. It is tractor technology - nothing complicated which is why they were cheap and fell apart. Had the build quality been there, etc.,etc., they'd have sold like Porsches and cost the same.
Fact is because they are what they are, not everyone likes them. We all do, but it is a free country and because of that we will have us who love the cars because of, not despite, their faults and we will still have tossers who buy Peroduas and Porsches because of the way humankind is.

Most EVERYBODY who see my Cerbera says "Great Car mister" - That's mostly the local lads who walk past my drive.
One of the Ladies who walked past to the shops said, "What a beautiful looking car"! "What is it"?
Now I reckon that if t
tGrunt mag held a poll, a lot of people might just vote it a bit higher than in the worst 20?We all know that abuse and poor maintenance has caused reputation problems, and that cars of this calibre are expensive to maintain if you don't know how to do it.
But I don't think that those of us who have comfortable, reliable, beautiful, different and exiting cars should let some company car, Golf driving twunt of a jurno get away with poor reporting.
Just my humble opinion of course!
But then I've really never given a s
t what negative people think/say so far!

I am not sure I agree that they were cheap - £60K almost for a cerb with a few extras. Thats more than many porsche models.
They were cheap in comparison to what you had to spend to get similar performance, iirc the nearest Ferrari on performance was £125k so that made the Cerb 'cheap' :-)Edited by V8 GRF on Wednesday 6th January 22:16

I'm not aware cerbs were ever a kit car. I thought the last to be bought as kits were in the 70s with the M series (hardly a kit car in the correct sense, more of a tax dodge). Totally dispute cheap too, mine was over £55 10 years ago. Cheaper than other cars of similar performance, yes. Agree with the comments about niche market and quality compared to Porsche and what the sales could have been thoughThe TVR brand is a very niche market, the Cerb more so.
