Hi Guys,

I knocked the stereo (without the face on) the other day while putting the golf clubs in. The front wouldn't go back on. it was just one of the clips that got bent. However although I can now get the front on and it beeps its stuck open (the position it goes to when you want to remove the front).

Any ideas on how to get it back in so I can check it still works (I think it thinks it is shut as it still does the remove me beeps when the ignition goes off).

I have tried the reset button on the front but no joy. any idea on what fuse feeds the stereo as a hard reset may do it?

Cheers

Ha Ha, I'm the most unlikely person to play golf but started with the girlfriend in 2009 as she wanted to start something for us both to do. Being a bit competitive I'm now hooked, played 4 times this week and played this years Ryder cup course (very posh). lol

I now have the stereo working, (looks like i also crushed the little spring loaded connections that mate with the front screen. However the screen no longer lights up so I fear a bit of shorting has occurred.

I like using the column mount control so have found a sony CDX-GT828 that uses this and I can connect Ipod/usb to it for £100. altough I have also found a used original stero that i may just buy and replace the connections: Do all the stereo's have a code when powered off or is it the same code?

I have one you can have. I think the radio reception was the reason I changed it not that getting a new model mad any difference but you can have it FOC if you want it.

Dont think so. The list which i put on Noble parts was direct from Sony. They say enter from the top until the correct code is found.

Not trying to spend your money but I fitted an aftermarket Sony stero so I could still use the stalk and it works an Ipod etc etc... its the mutts and is much better than the original only cost aroun £150... bewarned not all the ipod ones can be controled by the remote which sort of renders using the ipod useless as you cant skip tracks except by the head unit itself!!!

incidentally in 2003 I bought the same stereo fitted to the Noble as std and it was only £80 new back then which sort of shows the quality

Yes it needs the code. It should be somewhere with your documents or failing that dealer who supplied the car new may still have it. It consists of four buttons on the remote controler pressed in the right order.

I think mine was in the front of my service book or the owners manual.
