Are there any good free online mmorpg games the people of Ph would recomend?

What kind of RPG? Graphical or text based? I used to play a great MUD while I waas at uni called Zebedee

Kal Online is free and quite good, the only free one i hae heard of. Huge game, but once you hit around level 40 the game slows alot and you just grind tbh.

By the way it's a game where you can be a knight or a mage.

I started out with Helliconia and then moved onto Dawn of the Ages, good times.

Ultima Online is free to download nowadays and there are loads of unofficial servers to play on. Don't think many people play it these days though.

I was a Myth of soma and legend of mir geek back in the day, dare not play another for fear of addiction!

I played with eudemons for a short while and crazy tao, started getting obsessed again so stopped.

Tis not free though, well it can be free for a week or two, but after that it's subscription same as the others - the only difference is not having to buy a boxed copy.

I think what he means is that you can pay for playtime using ingame currency. Just requires you to have said ingame currency first.

I've always been intrigued as to how and where people find the time to play these things? Do you have friends/wives/partners? Do you sleep? Do you work? That's probably 99% of my time taken up, so I can't honestly see where I would "gain" the time to play from...

It costs but not that much, and you can buy more gametime with ingame currency, or sell gametime for ingame currency depending on your finances.

Project Torque, Massive Multiplayer Online Racing Game

Downloaded it yesterday (Big download and big update once installed) but it's not that bad considering it's free.
Obviously you can use real money to progress quicker but I'm having fun as it is. G25 compatible.

Thanks for all the replies folks, I shall start having a browse through some of these today.

As for Eve online, I've been there, done that thanks to a thread that was running on here. Although it was pretty good it took far too long to rank up to any meaningful ability. Oh and if I was going to pay I would fork out for WoW

You may also wish to consider ' RoM ' Runes of Magic (fairly similar to WoW) or a fairly new one called Allods (by a Russian publisher I believe) which is a sort of fantasy/technology style of thing - think its still in beta but should be due soon.

Technically there are ' cash shops ' in these games if you wish to purchase stuff but its not compulsory and you can simply play and it costs you nowt.
