Being a newbie I have tried to read up on the chip & tune performance enhancements available. When I have been looking at used cars to purchase I have always been wary of the 'modded' car and took a wide berth of them. Surely this would be the case with even TVR would'nt it? Not to say the 'mods' are poor the opposite being the case I am sure.
Bar the Charisma Cerb, I've never seen a bad modification to a TVR. Many mods are generally power/handling related, and where they are not, there is usually a genuine reason for doing them (any of Chrisof's chariots' bodywork; light upgrades from Webb's; roll bars etc.)
Where engine mods are concerned, generally that can only be a good thing, particularly when done by reputable outfits (Tower View, Mark Adams, TVR Power etc.) I'm sure that for the majority of buyers, ACT goodies, Tornado chips and the like represent a big plus point.

I agree with JulianHJ TVR owners on the whole are quite prepared to upgrade their pride and joy to a high spec regardless of cost. So don't be put off by any modified TVR's as 99% of the time it is a professional job which can only enhance the car
