New bike classifieds
Discussion
Hi all,
Just doing a bit of market research really. Do any of you any of you feel there's a need for a new website catering only for people selling their bikes online (like Autotrader, but for bikes). I've always thought there's a gap in the market for this, of course there's eBay but I'm thinking something slightly more specialised and dedicated to bikes. All the main ones available seem to be a bit messy and in "forum" format, and you need to trawl through pages and pages just on the off chance you may find something you want. Also, all the pages seem to be a kind of "sideline" to the main content of the site - e.g. the classifieds on PistonHeads. I want mine to be a classifieds, with other content based around that.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Shaffaman

i personally dont really think there is a need for it, or rather, i wouldnt use it.
were i to be looking for a second hand bike i would use either singletrack world or bike radar as i would trust the users of those sites to be honest sellers and sell quality bikes/components. they are quite specialist websites and would be most likely to sell the type of bike that i would be looking for.
although every classifieds ads website has its share of scams and dodgy sellers, they are fairly easy to spot and do not tend to appear that often on the more specialist websites.
