Does anyone know how I can advertise my house to rent on Rightmove without using an agent and charging me 15% fees?

I know I might have to use an agent to get it advertised, but would like to have the potential tennants to come directly to me etc.

Anyone in the knowledge? The likely costs involved?

Thanks

Only estate agents can advertise on right move. However there are some 'online' estate agents which will allow you to list via them, to get on right move, but their fees are only circa £300. That will be your best bet.

West Yorkshire.

I've done some searching and some companies will get it on Rightmove for £40-50 for 4 weeks.

Doesn't Sarah Beany have a website where you can list houses for free?

I put a note on my facebook status recently and got someone privately, think about your circle of friends & associates and their changing circumstances

I have just used a company called Upad http://www.upad.co.uk/ it costs £69 for as long as it takes to let. They will even organise contracts and references at an extremly good price too, if you want them to. We let our house out within 3 weeks using them.

Also worth using Gumtree, 1 weekend, 16 responses.

Of those about half could be discounted on their e-mail alone. We ended up with about 3 very good potential tenants, with two who defiantely wanted it. If anything we had too many responses, so we took the advert down until we had dealt with the first batch.

Agree with Gumtree, and have also used the local free sheet in the past, and never had a problem letting our flats in the first week of advertising.

I found a board (quite nice but self made with a sticker cutter machine) and an ad in the local free paper generated a good response.

I actually got my current tenants by intercepting them when they were waiting for an agent outside a property round the corner from our house.
