I don't have a problem. Email filtering for spam works perfectly. Google keeps the grummer pictures away when searching and I avoid sites that look dodgy. Especially when someone says NSFW or similar, its usually a good guide. And as for the links that people send for "dont click this", I don't!

hehe

Too little time, too much to do and far too many distractions. There is more to life than clicking that next link. Try to shutdown your computer for a couple of days and see what happens? I did over Christmas and the world didn't end.

No. Filth is the internet's raison d'etre.

In the same way I cannot hang around outside schools and invite children into my van and wave my cock about. Whether they chose to enter or not of their free will.
I see. You blame the internet for stopping you from doing this.

Indeed. And drove much of its technical growth.

But I really don't see it as a problem when searching for other stuff. Is the OP subconciously slipping (ooeer) the word "cock" into all his search terms?

Nah he just needs to delete his cookies so it isn't getting results based on prior search patterns.

It's not the filth that I am fed-up of, it's all the bullst and bullst pretending to be information.

I was looking for info on emigrating to America the other day and I literally had no idea what was legit/fact and what was just bullst/scam/hearsay.

In the end I just gave-up and there in lies the problem with the internet. All the 'information' renders the useful information unuaseable.

.......I am getting increasingly fed up with, whilst searching for a Manual, a Snippet of Information, a Review and so forth... people with their Penis'esesuses in car exhausts, Fat Skanks in bikinis selling me Viagra or other filthy ste cluttering into my mind as I peruse the informal wonders of the digital plethora.
Funnily enough we were only discussing how much this has reduced in recent years. It used to be almost impossible to search for anything without getting endless pages of results that were simply not what had been searched for and laden with trojans, virus' etc. This almost made the internet an unusable tool for business.

Now I rarely see any obviously wrong results (porn, viagra, penile extensions etc) in a search result, making the search and subsequent visit to any site quicker and easier ensuring the internet is now a vital business tool.

I'm sure the various ISP's and search engines will allow the return of differing results, but I really thought all this gumph had been tidied away to a darker corner of the net that I can purposely visit if I wish too.

Have you tried a different search engine ?

I don't think any regulation would be a good thing.

However, I am really starting to sway towards the opinion that further regulation really should be in order.
Explain. Do you want the UK authorities to censor content? From UK based sites? From all sites? Who gets to decide what should be censored? Who are they accountable to? How is the censorship implemented?

I'm swaying towards the opinion that there is too much regulation of all aspects of our lives already.
