M30 Cooling problem

Chaps,

Slight problem with my E32, i've been dealing with a coolant leak for the last few weeks and now after giving her a decent run today the thing has got pretty hot (needle past midway not anywhere close to red) stopped and released the cap on the expansion.

It's pissed out all the coolant so refilled the system and there is decent pressure in the radiator top hose but not so with the waterpump to head hose.

Is it needing a new waterpump you think?

Do you get hot air inside? that suggest the water is circulating if you do.

Smell the header tank to see if it smells like exhaust gasses.

It could well be airlocked somewhere, and not flowing properly. If the pump is cheap, try changing that and the thermostat.

Heater is plenty hot at the vents.

I've just drained it, filled and re-bled and gone for a decent run.

Everything is fine.
