Hi All
I tried Asking this before had problems with no title Appearing for the thread (mobile site problem) and question got locked. NOT diesel Mpg Mr Admin, and I have searched and can't find the answer on another thread.

I am getting 23.9 mpg according to obc. I have only had the car 2 weeks but expected more mpg than my z4mc which did 25mpg. What sort of mpg should I expect in real world mixed driving?

I have now filled the tank with shell super-unleaded. Will this increase power or mpg or am I wasting my money?

Thanks guys!!

I'm getting 25/6 but that's with about 10% motorway use, on a long trip I can get upto 38. With a mix of both I'd imagine around 28032 according to the OBC. I'd imagine you have a fairly heavy right foot like myself though.

My 330Ci auto returns about 20-22 mpg; 10 miles each way commute and pottering.

ETA - just noticed you asked for 2005 - mine's an E46 so probably not relevant.

Thanks, yes it is an E90, I should have said. I have taken it on some 'spirited' drives, but not seen the obc suddenly improve when I just go with the normal arthritic pace of modern traffic!

Auto or Manual? 23.9 MPG is pretty good for a car with that size engine mixed driving, mine averages around same (lots of town driving, short journeys), super unleaded Shell V Power gives me a couple more MPG and feels smoother and I'm sure slightly more powerfull, and is kinder to the engine. (2.8 auto E39 5 Series) Around town in traffic in this cold weather it takes ages to average above 19/20 MPG, but still got 37 MPG on a return trip from Dorset to Richmond, London so I'm happy :-) I'm guessing your 330 weighs more than your Z4 did.
