So there's this semi detached house a few miles away, and the owner of one side has pleaded guilty to murdering two women and hiding them under the floorboards. (Semis are not common in NZ, neither is hiding bodies under floorboards.....but I digress).

Unsurprisingly the family living next door decided to move out.....but they were only renting it.

Equally unsurprising has been the four arson attacks which rendered the whole property dangerous.

Enter the fire brigade who arrange to have the whole house demolished, as the house is wooden this doesn't take long.

Enter the council, who tell tell the owners (one of whom is banged up so probably doesn't care), that they must now clear the rubble from the site, otherwise they will take enforcement action!

The innocent owning party in this, (the party without the stiffs under the floor), actually live a few hundred miles away.......and they owe around fifty thousand quid on a mortgage.......but they haven't any insurance.

So their house has been demolished because an inconsiderate neighbour couldn't be bothered to take two bodies to the recycling depot - and the council expect them to pay to remove the remains of their house. One of those situations where insurance could be useful.
