I hit the mother of all f**king potholes last night on the A80. Probably the worst pothole I've ever hit in any car in 14 years of driving (and I've hit a few), and typically I was in the Z4, 18" alloys, 40/35 profile tyres and very firm, short travel suspension. I was convinced something must've broken from that but luckily the car seemed OK, but I stopped to check at Old Inns.

A80 eastbound.
Just after street lights finish after Auchenkilns, inside lane.
In line with passenger side wheels.
Was there on 04/01/2010.

I just didn't even see it, headlights and low position in the Z4 didn't help, but IIRC it's just as you come over a slight crest in the road too. Just watch out for that one folks. I'm guessing we've got a year of sh*te roads to look forward to following this harsh weather. Oh great rolleyes

Oh but they have the new jet patcher that is going to fill all of the holes!

rolleyes

I nearly got lost in one of the potholes on Great Northern Road.....

Great Northern Road
Just past the Shell petrol station (approaching Haudagain)
In the bus lane.

Incase anyone mentions it, it was during the time that you are allowed to drive in the bus lane

Try ABZ King St, outside Lidl.

There is now a crack, linking the pot holes in each bus lane.

Ah yes the crater rolleyes the road has just lost a layer there.

Don st going down to Grandholm from Gt Nthrn Rd. is a mess, doesnt stop people flying down the road though.

There's a pothole grand canyon forming on the Westhill/Tescos roundabout. Perhaps the council are hopeing it will get filled by smarcar drivers, I reckon about 4 of them should do it.

Whilst driving my company Smart I nearly became a victim of the Westhill pothole too!! Unbelievable condition of our roads around Aberdeen. The road is literally disintegrating at the end of Countesswells Road!!

I think they've started digging for granite again in the entrance to sainsburys Berryden.
I lose track of the various bombholes to avoid. Which invariably means I fall into some rage

I made a thread in October last year. I hit a pothole in Inverness and damaged an 18" alloy and a tyre :-( council filled it in the day after i complained to them..... So nothing ever got done.

I bought a new rim £92 and tyre which was £85.

Skene Street opposite the Noose and monkey - massive pothole (1ft x 2ft x half ft deep)

Top of Summer Street as you turn off towards Golden Square - The road surface is like the surface of the moon.

Outisde Shelly Leighs as you go towards George Street - you can see an orange cable coming through the tarmac!

Bottom of Mount Street at the start of the one way street, a hole has appeared and is getting bigger by the day.

Ballater St in Glasgow in front of the Travel Inn - I have been reporting this to the council since Oct, they keep pouring tar on top of it and within a day thats all on the pavement and the road is a canyon again.

Also on Eglinton St littered with huge potholes, most of which seem to be at bus stops.

I cracked my front splitter in the almighy hole at Sainsburys Berryden in ABZ at the weekend; pitch dark; first time I'd been into that store in ages and didn't have a clue it was there. Even had trouble reversing out of it!! The craters on North Deeside Road between N.Anderson Drive and Mr Chips are horrible as well mad

Edit to say; the sooner they resurface the entire stretch from the West Hill roundabout to the Carnie the better; even the results of the first attempt at remodelling/resurfacing it was rutted as hell!

There's a few nasty ones form regularly around the Clyde Tunnel.

There's no worse feeling than that sickening thump noise that makes you think "That MUST have done damage". Apparently you can claim any damages back from the local authorities if the pothole has been there longer than a certain length of time?

Ally, I went over a huge pothole in my Z a while back and thought I'd certainly done damage. Quick visual inspection checked out ok and everything felt fine, but at my next MOT they found a leaking shock absorber on that wheel. Might be worth getting it checked out in case you can act quick enough to claim any repairs back?

Crown Street outside the Jewel in the Crown, it's getting bigger by the day as it's on a bus route and they keep smacking into it everytime they pass.
