T350 sales conundrum!

Hi all,
I've advertised my T350 at what I believe to be very cheap for a very short period as I have the oppotunity to buy a friends Gallardo before he trades it for his new California!
My problem is I have been inundated with people from all over Europe wanting to buy it unseen and just transfer the money to my account! Is this wise or would I be naive to do so? I would prefer a buyer to view 1st so I could actually meet them and also to keep it in the country.
I'm also loathed to let it go full stop. I know if I do sell it I'll want another in no time but the Gallardo itch has still not been scratched!

Nope, very common at the moment and very safe in handled correctly. BACS transfer is perfect. TVR's are attracting a lot of attention from Europe at the moment as currency movements mean they are a lot cheaper than they were. Did your prospective buyers view before offering to buy/transfer money?
All of my foreign enquiries have offered to pay now and buy sight unseen! I'm presuming because it's cheap they are taking a chance but I would never buy without seeing. This is why alarm bells have rung for me but maybe not such a worry then? My problem now is whose money do I accept 1st!

I'm going to be looking for a T350 in a few months and it is a shame your car has come up now as I am fairly certain I would bite your arm off after a short haggle at that price
If you do sell to an overseas buyer speak to your bank beforehand to let them know what is happenning and pre-advise them of any monies being paid into your account from your buyer once you have agreed a price. Get details of the buyers bank from him (name, address, sort code, SWIFT reference etc to prove it exists) and have him pre-advise his branch that he wants to make a cross border transfer on a date to be agreed if it is to happen on the day he is with you. Once you have this information you can ask your branch to ensure the details stack up by checking the data he has supplied against those they can obtain from their own systems. Also have your branch confirm the money transfer process being proposed ensures that monies received into your account are cleared funds and that they cannot be recalled at any point in time after the balance in your account reflects them. If they are not happy get them to suggest an alternative and put that to your buyer. You wouldn't want to hand over keys, car etc and then find the money wasn't there after all.

I had a few foreign enquiries when I sold my Elise last year and ended up selling to a French guy. He confirmed that there was a Lotus club in France and that a lot of people from the continent were now buying British sports cars because of the favourable exchange rate.All of my foreign enquiries have offered to pay now and buy sight unseen! I was very wary at first and suspected a scam, but he came over and viewed the car before buying (I sent him lots of extra photos of the car and answered many questions first). He arrived with cash and I told him before he arrived that I would need to pay the cash in at the bank before I handed over the keys. He turned out to be a very genuine nice guy.
However, I would be extremely dubious about anyone who claims to want to buy a car from another country without even seeing it, regardless of its value. Any serious buyer would surely offer a deposit to secure the car, then pay the balance on collection? Maybe try insisting on cash payment on collection?
cash is alway good, i sold a cerbera and chimaera last year to german buyers, both were very nice people and both paid in cash. the only problem is be prepered for a long day as its very hard for european buyers to find large amounts of sterling and therefore it will come in small notes, i think the last one i sold there was a £1500 in fivers, also they will need help in completeing the import forms for their country.

I'm really sorry but I've now decided I'm going to keep my Trev (for the 2nd time!)
I took the Gallardo out last night and although I was very careful (the roads are snowy/icy here at the moment!) I didn't feel at home with it as I do my TVR. The noise was AWSOME and build quality as you'd expect. It felt every inch the super car you'd expect but it was definitely missing that special something the TVR has. I also know I'd be scared senseless to drive it at 8/10ths let alone 10/10ths through fear of bending it or breaking it!
If you haven't found what you're looking for in a month or two by all means give me a call, if nothing else you're more than welcome to have a cuppa and have a nose at my p&j.

Phew, that removes the dilema from my head, as I am currently searching for a Tuscan/T350 after selling my Caterham in december.I'm really sorry but I've now decided I'm going to keep my Trev (for the 2nd time!)
On the selling to Europe, I sold my Lotus 340R last year to a guy in holland, he never saw the car and had paid in full to my bank account 3 weeks before sending a lotus specialist over to collect it and drive it home.
It was very very easy and I switched the money around into a different account before it was collected.
I was nervous, but it was all smooth enough.

So the Gallardo is a car for all seasons, well i suppose it is 4-wheel drive :-)
I also noticed the car up for sale again yesterday, i couldnt believe me eyes. I too am after one in a couple of months (need to wait till march when im 25 for insurance perposes god damn it). At that price i wouldnt even haggle.
If you still have it in a few months and you want to sell then ill def be giving you a call.
Is the offer of coming to look at your P&J an open invitation? Iv never even seen it in the flesh let alone hear her start up, all i know is i want one!
All i'll say is dont let anyone take her away from these shores, she's a purebred british car and she should stay here IMO. There will always be buyers here at the right price.

By all means give me a call/email in a month or two I may sell, I may not. I can only say no! But if I have the time and you're passing through I've no problems with meeting up for you to have a look.
I had intended to use the Gallardo every day but after driving it last night in less than ideal conditions I realised I really wouldn't want to.....so the Discovery will still be my daily driver!

The dilema was giving you a call, but then you decided to remove it from sale, maybe, Im still confused if its for sale or not
Decision has already been made to buy one, my mind is made up on that and viewing a Tuscan and T350 at a dealer later this month, yours threw a spanner in the works as it really looks the business at a good price.
I had a Griff 500 back in 2002 and been hankering to get back in a TVR ever since.

a mate, if he really did not like the car he would of flown back.
He had EURO cash but the exchange rate did not work out, also bank
did not like that amount of money (money laundering etc.) so
we both went to the bank and he did the wire of funds. Then it
was clearly in my account and he got the keys, job done.
There is a slight bit of trust but if u are dealing with a
PH then I believe these to be genuine people, mostly.
