Could anyone who has the OZ rims in this size please tell me what the offset is?

Thanks.

I'm sure I recall reading on here that some people were running these wheels on their Wedges. Anyone?

Wyn,I'm not actually looking for any, I'm thinking about getting a set of wheels made up, and was looking for a head start on what the measurements should be. I've got 8 1/2 and 8 inch wheels (15's) on mine already, so I know what the offset for each of those sizes is.

Much as I like the OZ rims, I think the chances of finding even a pair which are straight (or round if you like) is non-existent - and as for 4......

Most of them are now 20+ years old, and I guess an awful lot will have been on race cars, with a hard life.

Good luck with your search though.

Hi Rev,

It should be on the face of the wheel, behind the plate covering the wheel nuts. Not only should it indicate size, i.e. 8J x 15, but there should be another marking, e.g E.20 (for the 8") or E.14 (for the 8 1/2").

Thanks.

OK- just taken a look :

9JX16
H2 E20

and it must be said that it's too close to the anti tramp forward control bar .. I'm using 3mm spaces to conpensate. So the PCD is not really correct to start with.

How do you convert E20 to a PCD ?

You don't - PCD is the diameter of a circle drawn through the mounting bolts, nothing to do with the offset.

Doesn't SH do a tie rod with rose joints or similar to give slightly more clearance?

Cheers for the check though.

By my calculations, a 9" wheel with that offset will sit about 10mm closer to the suspension than either the 8" or 8 1/2" wheels with their relative offsets, hence the fouling.

I reckon that to keep the gearing the same when replacing the 15" with a 16" wheel, the right tyre would be a 245 x 40 , but that size is not commonly available. Going to a 245 x 45 increases the gearing by 3 1/2% (and throws the speedo out by that much). What tyre size are you using out of interest?

Ive got a full set of 16 by 9 which were used by a racing tuscan at one time but are in rather good condition for there age and not out of shape, im running 245*45 and it dosent half nock out the speedo but on the SEAC there isnt any arch rubbing as there is on the SE boady and with the SH rear control bars do help with clearance.
Still they are a prity wheels that sute the car.

I've got 16 x 9 's and 245 tyres on back and Steve Heath's rose jointed anti tramp bars too , no problems with clearance to bars or wheel arches , bit cold in the garage a moment , apologies .

I've got 245x45 on there .. sure the speedo may be out .. but it was anyway .. used to show 70 mph and actual speed was 63mph ..

The slightly higher gearing will help my car - nice to have a pottential higher top speed without the need to change axle / gbox ratios.

Yep also got 16 x 9 all round on mine

But currently running 225 on all corners

Got the SH rear tie rod thingies to put on then will go to 245 on the rear

Clearence doesn't seem to be an issue on the front of mine, but fitting 225 to the rims is a bit of a night mare as slightly under tyred yikes

That's the conclusion I was coming to as well Paul - going for 225 40 16. In what was was it difficult to fit them though?

They are difficult to fit as the rim is too wide for the tyre

I'm using 225/50 on rear and 225/45 on front and that was quite a strech getting them on

Not sure how 225/40 will be, but I imagine tyre fitter be cursing you a lot smile

Also the 225/45 was quite rough on the suspension, so good luck with 40 profile
