Getting xbox to MS for repair

My xbox has done the inevitable and come up with the RROD, I've sorted it with Microsoft and they will repair it and they've sent me a UPS shipping label via email. The only problem i'm having is actually getting the xbox in the post, from what I've read the box is collected but from the instructions I've got I have to drop it off to them which is decidedly inconvenient to me as the nearest depot is 20 miles away. Is this right or should they be collecting it from me?

ring UPS are per your instructions, they will collect it from you



mine has been away three times now and ALWAYS been the same instructions emailed to me

yep all Free of charge and a very swift turn around every time mine has been away

Its free and takes about a week to get back to you, plus they no longer repair, just replace.

I packed my xbox in a giant wwashing powder box, very solid and secure.
But yeah you will probably get a replacement rather than a repair. Only took 2 weeks as well.
As much as people like to slag off MS, they have this procedure down to a T.

just got mine back the other day it had the e74 and one red light they repaired it within a week and had it back to me

Not completely true - it's free but I got my original xbox back repaired rather than a new one. MS turned it around in a week just before Christmas - very surprising

That is not right IMO.

Are you ringing the right department as per the MS instructions? Tried arranging it online?

yep shouldnt be paying anything. you follow a link on the instructions that are emailed to you, fill out the time / date whens convienient for you and thats it.

I've given it to my mum as I won't be available to meet the courier and she called today. I spoke to her after work and she said she had to pay just under £4 on her credit card in order for ups to come and collect.

I think I'll try calling them to check.
