when to rebuild a 200tdi ?

i have a 1993 def 90. its a 200tdi which has 243000 miles on the clock should i be thinking of an engine rebuild or just wait for it to fail and get another engine. the rest of the car is sound just went striaght through an mot.

the engine smokes a little on start up but thats to be expected it still pulls really well its quicker than my v8 range rover classic. (3.5 auto)

i have replaced the rear x member and the gearbox was done about 2 years ago is there anything else i should be worrying about?
