Try your local Audi dealer wink.

Seriously though, RS4 pads exactly the same, Fraction of the cost.

If you look closely under the Lamborghini caliper you will see the Audi stamp.

Sorry to bring up an old thread.

My brake pad warning light has come on, on my dash. I think its because one of my rear pads has a crack in it, so I suspect I am going to have to change the rear pads to rectify.

Do the EBC pads mentioned in this thread have the wear sensor so the light on my dash will go out (2007 Spyder) ?

Finally are the EBC ones good enough? Will they last on a car of this nature, they just seem cheap!? smile

Sorry also can someone confirm the EBC pads both FRONT AND REAR have the wear sensors in them?

Some forums (perhaps USA ones) suggest EBC rear pads dont have the sensor in them!?

Matt,
The ebc pads do not have the wear sensors so im told but my symptoms were the same as yours so took my car to LHW and found the sensor faulty to which they changed under warranty.
A local audi specialist I know checked my pads and they were fine but confirmed they were RS4 pads as mentioned above and he could supply and fit a full set ( 4 ) for a fraction of the cost from Lamborghini.
I will get him to do the work come the time.
Hope this helps.

Tony.

My cars just out of warranty, so I would rather try and find/fix it myself or with a specialist than main dealers (who if the pads need doing will obviously only use Lambo stuff).

Hmmmm!

Matt hi,i got the yellow ebc and have had no probs ,they work real well.
the fronts have wear sensors, the rears didnt come with sensors but i heard you can
get them from ebc as an option, they fit into a slot in the pad.
Also when i fitted mine on the rear i didnt know what to do with the sensor wires.
I cut the connector off the the old pads ,pushed it onto the harness and left the two ends
not connected but taped up,however had a rotor brake icon thing show up on the dash.
So i then joined the two wires together and light is now out.
Seems the wire inside the pad gets worn through and stops the signal.
cheers

Thanks for the input guys.

My pads are OK but I think I have a crack on one of my rears that must have taken the sensor out, rather than risk damage or bad wear on the disc I am going to change the rear pads over anyway, so I will contact EBC about getting a sensor, otherwise the shorting out sounds like the way to go!

Thanks again,

You will propably need to get the pistons all the way back in to get the new pads fitted.
Just keep an eye on the fluid level cos of the fluid being pushed back into the res.
Any probs just shout.biggrin

My car had 20k miles worth of wear, got the 4 rotors skimmed for £260
They work great,i think there is enough thickness on the rotor, and it
does state a min thickness on the rotor.
Or you could look into the R8-RS4 rotor thing.
biggrin
