I have decided I want to see if I can make a little more money one the side by giving this a bash. Was wanting to know if anyone on here could give me websites that are good for daily stock info?
Don't take any tips. Learn to trade for yourself. You're going to lose a lot initially. If you get lucky and win a lot at the start, prepare to lose a lot more later. Remember that thread about the guy who was laughing at people crashing in the snow? Remember what happened the next day? Trading is like that.
It takes a successful retail trader (ie us) about 6 months to 2 years to become successful. Most run out of money way before then. And many more never get it.

I'm a training Stockbroker- as the other members have said there is no way of being instantly successful. We day trade by using trade volumes to predict how a market maker will move his spread according to the quantity of buys/sellers. To do this you will need to get a "Level 2" platform from maybe advfn.com for about £30 a month I think which will stream the trade volumes and the live spread. You may want to find an online broker who has low dealing commission so you dont end up losing out especially if you are trading on tight margins.
You should read "The Naked Trader" by Robbie Burns too, before doing anything.

lol, yea. spotted a few already! 'come, let us teach you how to make millions, with no capital, no work and no skill' type of deals. getting there tho, out of the twenty or so shares i have picked up, 70 per cent ave gone up, day on day, just not enough to gain profit past the 'buy' price.
still, rome wasnt built.......
thanks for your advice tho ninja

Been day trading stocks since November 2008, its definitely a big learning curve and as others have said you'll have good days and bad days. A couple of websites that I've come across that should help you a bit are:
http://www.investopedia.com - a good site to use to learn about basics, investement terms etc
Mentioned above www.trade2win.com
www.lse.co.uk - a forum site, kind of like ph where users discuss their trades tends to be more active than trade2win. Just enter the share your interested in in the search box and will bring you to a share chat for that share. Just remember though don't just take what people say on there, you have to do your own research after all your the only one responsible for the trades you make.
www.forexfactory.com - has a useful calender which shows when ecomonic data is released and is usually pretty fast in terms of updating when the data is released.
www.bloomberg.com - You probably know of this one good site for daily news and charts, the stock prices are usually 15 min delayed.
From my experience you have to be able to take a loss or your in the wrong game, but having said that it is possible to make money doing this just takes some time developing a strategy that works for you. Best of luck
